Helen Horton Counselling
Welcome
Welcome, and thank you for visiting. Just as autumn invites us to slow down, let go, and embrace change, counselling can offer you a safe and supportive space to reflect, heal, and grow.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and having someone to listen without judgment can make all the difference. Here, you’ll find a place to talk openly, explore the challenges you’re facing, and begin moving towards greater clarity, balance, and self-understanding.
About Counselling
Life can be hard sometimes, and it is easy to find ourselves feeling anxious, lost, worried, unsure, stressed, depressed or overwhelmed.
Challenges such as relationship difficulties, loss or bereavement, or experiencing burnout can leave us feeling like we have lost our sense of self, and we are alone.
Past events in our lives can leave us with shame, guilt and confusion.
Sometimes, even when things are going well in our lives there can appear to be something missing.
I can help you. By listening to you express your true thoughts and feelings I can provide the space and support that you need to find your way through this difficult time. Using a person-centred approach, we will work together to find the answers you need, I will not listen to you like a friend; I will not give advice or make any judgments, I will, however, encourage you to openly and honestly talk to me about whatever is on your mind.
Counselling offers you an opportunity to have your voice heard and listened to without judgement, to challenge your thinking and to recognise aspects of yourself that you have not seen before.
I will be a calm and consistent person for you within our sessions.
About Me
My path to counselling has been shaped by a lifetime of people-focused work — from nursing and early years support to discovering the deep value of counselling later in life.
Through my own training and personal therapy, I’ve seen how powerful it can be to feel heard and supported, and it’s a privilege to now offer that space to others.

Fees & Terms
Free Consultation – I understand that the thought of approaching a counsellor can be quite intimidating, therefore I offer a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes. This offers you the opportunity to see how I work and ask any questions you may have, and it allows me to find out why you are seeking counselling and what you are hoping to gain from it.
We can then decide if we think we would work well together.
This initial consultation is always required before booking counselling sessions.
Counselling Fees – Sessions last for 50 minutes and cost £45 per session. Payments are made via bank transfer on the day of the session.
I offer a few client spaces charged at concessional rates; these are available at my discretion.
Counselling takes place via a secure online platform or in person at locations in both Leominster & Hereford.
We will regularly review how you feel the sessions are going and there is no limit to the number of sessions you can have.
